Teaching techniques may vary, hence the wide usage of technology today. Technology can also be used as a mean of educating students from various types of learners. Podcast is a multimedia digital file made available online for downloading onto MP3 devices. Podcast is a conducive way of teaching through an audio radio and is widely used providing knowledge through the use of internet by means of simply subscribing or downloading. Perhaps, more efficient for teachers when it comes to recording lessons for absentees.
The podcast can be audio files, video files, or documents. The broadcaster podcast the program by posting the episodes to a Web server. The consumer subscribes to the podcast using an application, such as iTunes (Apple, 2012). Podcasts provide information on a whole new level.
Podcasting is a useful tool to acquire as a teacher. And can be valuable if used properly. It is also free and easy to use. Podcast on education is growing. Even so, while technology advances, podcasting is not a threat to teachers, and now we can enjoy audio on the move or create our own feed. This is another alternative to creating a more interesting environment for the new generation of tech savvy students.
